5.35pm on day 2

handful of raw cashews eaten at 4pm for a snack

2 glasses of water…jeepers its hot, so easy to drink those today

salad for dinner tonight

all in all a good day food wise, no sudden cravings for that bar of chocolate my GM  bought today, and I left it on the kitchen counter so have been passing it all day lol…such will power today lets see what tomorrow brings 😉

my girlfriend and her husband came over this arvo for a visit, we were discussing my new blog and food in general, after listening to them…very wise vegaterian people they are, and eat very healthily….I think I will try to cut out all sugar in my eating plan, they have told me it should make a difference to how I feel in 2 weeks…so check back to see how that went!!!  🙂

also remembered I had read somewhere on my many literary voyages that if you sniff pure vanilla it helps to dull the appetite….so I am whipping out the vanilla bottle before tea, certainly worth a try!

Vanilla sniffing you say? Hmm may even try that myself 🙂 Good girl with the chocolate – so proud!
I bought 2 large blocks of it myself just when I have the craving – but alone it has sat in the drawer..I know how tempting it is. My daughter went off sugar – they say according to her it takes about a month before it’s out of your system. I couldn’t do it. It’s enough I watch my carbs, I’m not giving up my lollies lol. In saying that excellent with the cashews for a snack- salad and water **nods nods** yes plenty of those 🙂 2 days down!!!!!

had completely forgotten Vanilla last night when GM came home earlier than expected, but still the chocolate didn’t call out to me lol
I can imagine that it will take at least a month to come down off the sugar, did she loose weight with that?
I do appreciate your comments and support…thinking I will be going out to find your book too 😉

It only takes a week or too …….No ifs or Buts

Sugar is processed within 3-4 hours. Either you burn it, or it’s turned to fat.
Addiction is a neurological deficiency of dopamine (usually) or seratonin (commonly). You do something or eat something that gives you a good feeling. Your brain produces less of the neurotransmitters, or has them used up. Then you avoid the addicted thing, and your brain doesn’t have enough of the neurotransmitters, so it “hurts” in a way.

Your brain always looks to keep the chemical levels the same. When they fall off, it is an addiction. Some people are addicted to happiness, or sadness.

As for sugar, there can be addiction, but also there’s more to it.

1, you could have bacteria which eat the sugar in your gut, leaving you with their waste. The waste requires energy to process, so you feel hungry.

2.Refined sugar and sugared drinks including fruit juice are really tough on your body.

If you eat whole fruits, you get the sugar, but it takes much longer to absorb it all, so you don’t get the crash afterwards. Same for veggies. The fiber helps slow down the absorption.

Sugar from good foods are an essential component of human body and it remains all the time only the concentration varies its the bad sugars that are killing us – once your body has adjusted to natural food sugars it only takes 1-2 weeks for you to get over the withdrawal from bad sugars : )
