Tuesday day 24

“Overeating happens when our meals are deficient in relaxation, time, pleasure, awareness, and good food.” — …………….The Institute for the Psychology of Eating
……….an interesting quote I found on Facebook, and when I read it, my brain started grinding, wheels started turning, nerve endings fired up, its amazing how words can effect you.
We are a society that speeds…….through meals, through work, through shopping, through marriage, friendships and life in general. We need to slow down and enjoy!!

I like the Italian and Greek way of family/food and socializing, and I am sure there are many other cultures that practice this way of eating….sitting down together and experiencing the pleasure of the food in a relaxed time frame, gathering around a huge table outside under an old tree, the sun shining, blue skies and a gentle breeze, enjoying the company, the food, the wine, just being in the moment, tasting each morsel and being aware of the textures, the flavours, the firing up of taste buds…..maybe if we spent a little more time on fresh food and made some time for actually savouring the food we wouldn’t reach for the quick fix, the ready-made meals, the fastest methods.

An excellent day……..

Sorry to do this to you but……… Sugar Police it is full of ( Fructose Corn Syrup)

1.) Their slogan is “eat fresh.”
Ask any Subway worker and they’ll say that their meats and their vegetables are all delivered prepackaged and stored away in the refrigerator for days at a time. There really isn’t anything fresh about that. If you just google this you’ll find different accounts of people seeing mold in the roast beef being displayed or even stale breads.

2.) Their wheat bread isn’t really whole wheat.
Anyone can tell you that true whole wheat bread is supposed to be healthier than white bread. Not Subway.Subway wheat bread has the same amount of calories and has more fat and carbs than their white bread. What’s interesting to note is that Subway used to or still continues just to DYE their white bread to look like wheat bread. Disgusting.

3.) Their breads contain High Fructose Corn Syrup. That is disgusting. They add this cheap alternative to sugar to give it taste. Why would bread need some cheap sugary liquid? What’s sad is that 90% of the breads in your grocery store are now using HFCS. Read any of the popular bread brands, you’ll see it.Make sure you always go organic and all-natural. If you don’t know what HFCS is, it’s corn syrup that’s converted into a sugary substance. Its been linked to rare cases of mercury poisoning and almost every case of obesity.
